Local people took part in Spire Homes' fun day to raise money that will help sheltered housing tenants keep fit and make friends.
Spire Homes have just held their first sheltered housing funday. Adults and children alike joined in the fun with the residents for a fun packed day.
Activities included a fire engine, children’s corner, various stalls and raffle prizes were in abundance with lucky winners walking away with a Santa Pod day pass, Thames river cruise, garden furniture and high street vouchers.
Residents from all the sheltered schemes across Rushden worked together to make the day a huge success. The residents raised a total of £1037, which will go towards the sheltered housing residents fund to provide activities to keep fit and make friends.
Jayne Williamson, Inclusions Officer said,” This is our first funday and it has been a great success, everyone has really pulled together and without the support of the residents from the sheltered housing schemes across Rushden, today would not have been possible. Local people have come along to show their support, and the funds raised will benefit the elderly residents”.
