Aragon and their partners hold consultation for Engayne residents to have their say on future improvements in the area.
Aragon, in partnership with Bedfordshire Police, MBDC and Sandy Town Council recently hosted the Engayne Area Review (EAR) Consultation Day. The event was an opportunity for local residents to share their views about improvements needed for the area with local politicians, including Alistair Burt MP, Bedfordshire Police and Aragon’s Chief Executive, Alan Humphreys.
The objective of the EAR Consultation Day is to demonstrate the commitment of relevant agencies to listen to residents, finding out what they would like achieved and then working in partnership to fulfil expectations. This was the start of ongoing consultation with the residents of the Engayne area to address numerous areas for improvement including street lighting, car parking, garage blocks, alleyways, open grass areas and parking.
The project group propose to continue the consultation by taking it into local schools to further engage with young people. They will hold a separate event with older people who live on the estate, to ensure that all areas of the community feel that they have been able to have their say on what matters most to those residents.
