Willow Park’s chief executive, Mervyn Jones, is twice the man he was after being sawn in half by a magician.
Willow Park’s Chief Executive, Mervyn Jones, is now twice the man he was after being sawn in half by the guest magician at our Showcase Event. Visitors were entertained by a whole host of activities and also had the opportunity to find out what Willow Park and other local organisations are doing to make this part of Wythenshawe a great place to live. Tenants found out how to get involved and have a say in our priorities for the coming year. All sections of the Trust were represented at the Showcase, as well as local organisations like the Tree of Life Centre, Open Door Community Café, Wythenshawe Regeneration Team, Fire and Police Service, Crime and Disorder Unit, Scarman Trust, Starting Out, Forum Futures, NHS and Manchester Environmental Campaigns Team. The day was full of fun activities and information-sharing, starting with the announcement of our Garden Competition winners, a Magic Show, Tea Dance, Street Dance and Music & Rap workshops. The local African Group recently set up at Benchill Community Centre also offered visitors the chance to sample their speciality cuisine. Visitors picked up handy information and advice from ‘DIY Tips’ to ‘Managing your Money’, and discovered the activities on offer for all age ranges locally.
