Sheltered Housing Week of Action

As part of Axiom Housing Association’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, staff from our Head Office volunteered for a 'week of action' across all their Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire sheltered schemes.

Weeding, pruning, digging, jet-washing, painting and curtain hanging their way around our Sheltered Schemes as part of the "Sheltered Housing Week of Action".

Volunteers donned either a pair of wellies, rubber gloves, goggles or overalls; some need to wear all four! Even the weather didn't stop play as residents and staff worked together to make it a real week to remember. Staff had the opportunity to do something a little different to their usual daily routines, and visited schemes across Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. Some residents were able to put names to faces and vice versa; which gave everyone a real boost.

One Scheme Manager said "laughter could be heard ringing across the Court!" This is just what is was all about. Denise Smith, Sheltered Housing Manager said "I would like to thank everyone who got personally involved in organising the events and to everyone who took part. By working together we have made a real difference to the lives of our sheltered tenants."

"We are now looking to make the Sheltered Week of Action an annual event and are committed to the promises we have made within iN business for neighbourhoods standard".
