Wirral asks how sheltered housing can improve

Wirral Partnership Homes consulted tenants and local organisations about the future of sheltered housing at a Challenge Event.

Over 70 of Wirral Partnership Homes’ tenants took part in a Challenge Event to look at how sheltered housing could be improved. It gave them the opportunity to have their say as part of our Best Value Review of the service.

Tenants and representatives from various organisations including Wirral Social Services, Age, Concern, Wirral Regeneration and the Health and Housing Project took part.

Pamela White, one of our tenants, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, it was very well organised. I particularly liked all the discussion and meeting people from a variety of organisations. I have only been living in sheltered housing for 11 months and it is nice to feel that people are interested in listening to your views.”

Suzanne Eynon, Head of Supported Housing at Wirral Partnership Homes said: “The views we collected on the day, together with information we have collected through other forms of consultation, will be used to help us determine ‘Where we want to be’ and the possible options of how we achieve that.”
